COMMON QUESTIONS
A: I already have a free Grammarly account with my CBS email. What happens to it? A: It is automatically upgraded to the CBS Pro license. Your saved documents and personal dictionary stay with you. From now on, sign in using your CBS email through the CBS login page.
Q: I have a personal Grammarly account with a different email. Can I use that?
A: The free Pro license is tied to your CBS email only. Sign out of your personal account and sign in with your CBS email to get Pro features.
Q: Is this really free?
A: Yes. CBS covers the cost for every currently enrolled student. You will never be asked for payment information.
Q: Can I use Grammarly on my assignments?
A: Grammar, spelling, clarity, and citation suggestions are generally fine. AI features that write or rewrite text for you may not be allowed in some classes. Follow your syllabus, and ask your professor if you are unsure.
Q: Grammarly is not showing up in Word or Google Docs.
A: Make sure the browser extension (for Google Docs) or the Word add-in is installed and that you are signed in with your CBS email. Restart the browser or Word. If it still does not appear, contact the IT Help Desk.
Q: What happens to my account when I graduate or leave CBS?
A: Your Pro access ends when you are no longer enrolled. Before you graduate, you can move to a personal Grammarly account if you want to keep using it.
