Pass/Fail Option Explained

What is the pass/fail grading option, and what do I do if I want to take this option?

  • As of April 2, 2020, students may choose a “pass” or “fail” grading structure or continue with a letter grade with grade points that correlate with the grade.
  • Pass/fail can be applied to one class, or as many as you would like.
  • You do not have to apply it to all your classes.
  • You must notify your professor before the last date of the class on the syllabus.
  • To earn a grade of “Pass,” you must do enough work possible to earn at least a 60 in a face-to-face class or a 600 in an online class.
  • This pass/fail option only applies to the Spring 2020 classes that end after April 2, 2020, and Summer 2020, Fall 2020, and Spring 2021 semester classes.
