Karla Martinez

Administrative Assistant; Discipleship Coach

  • B.S., College of Biblical Studies (Biblical Counseling)

Karla Martinez serves as the Administrative Assistant for the Discipleship Department at the College of Biblical Studies’ Houston campus. She is also a Discipleship Coach, assisting students with spiritual growth plans to help make their CBS experience not only an academic endeavor, but a transformational encounter with the Living God!

Karla was born and raised in Honduras, then moved to the United States when she was a teenager. In 2016 Karla and her husband, Jeovanny, experienced the loss of their daughter Vanessa at birth. In the midst of her grief, God led Karla to pursue her bachelor’s degree in counseling from CBS so that she could minister to women in their pain and confusion.

Her experience, heritage, and biblically-based training allows Karla to pour God’s love and direction into the lives of a variety of women, in English or Spanish. She also volunteers at the Houston Pregnancy Help Center, ministering to women in various crisis pregnancy situations, and encouraging them with the Good News of Jesus Christ toward their salvation and decision-making.

Karla also enjoys decorating, organizing celebratory events, and keeping her coworkers laughing! She and Jeovanny have been happily married for 12 years, and are proud parents to five beautiful children (four on earth and Vanessa in heaven).
