2012 Council on Dispensational Hermeneutics | “Dispensationalism and Biblical Preaching”

The Council of Dispensational Hermeneutics is an annual meeting of traditional dispensational scholars from all over the country that will be coming to the College of Biblical Studies in Houston for the first time on October 3-4, 2012. Seminary students, Seminary Faculty, Pastors and lay leaders who are interested in dispensational theology are welcome to attend. The Council on Dispensational Hermeneutics is a forum for traditional dispensationalists to discuss hermeneutics and related matters. The theme for this year’s conference is “Dispensationalism and Biblical Preaching.” As the Preliminary Schedule indicates, scholars from at least 7 different seminaries will be presenting research on this information. Some of the notable presenters are:
- Dr. Mark Bailey, President of Dallas Theological Seminary, will provide an “Example of Proper Dispensational Preaching.”
- Dr. Bill Blocker, President of the College of Biblical Studies, will discuss “The Necessity of Biblical Preaching.”
- Dr. David Allen, Director of the Southwestern Center for Expository Preaching and Dean of the School of Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary will discuss “Preaching Hebrews.”
- Dr. Bruce Fong, Dean of Dallas Theological Seminary’s Houston Extension, will serve on a panel to discuss “Dispensational Preaching in Multi-ethnic Contexts.”
- Dr. Israel Loken, Chair of the Bible and Theology Department of the College of Biblical Studies, will discuss “Preaching the Historical Narratives of the Old Testament.”
- Dr. Elliott Johnson, Senior Professor of Bible Exposition at Dallas Theological Seminary, will present “Expository Preaching: The Hermeneutics of Application.”
- Dr. Mike Stallard, Dean of Baptist Bible Seminary, will present “Preaching the Book of Revelation”
- Dr. Robert Thomas, author of Evangelical Hermeneutics: The New Versus the Old, the Revelation Exegetical Commentary (2 Volumes), and Understanding Spiritual Gifts: A Verse-By-Verse Study of 1 Corinthians 12-14 will present “How to Preach the Sermon on the Mount to a Christian Audience”
The conference has early bird discounts and discounts for any student (seminary or Bible college), Bible college or seminary faculty, pastors and spouses of pastors.
