The College of Biblical Studies-Houston was recently ranked 10th in Texas and in the top 12 percent of colleges and universities nationwide by StateUniversity.com, a leading website providing college and university information for prospective students and their families.

According to StateUniversity.com’s website, the rankings are based on a combination of factors including student retention, faculty salaries and student/faculty ratios. Unlike many other rankings systems, StateUniversity.com does not include peer assessments.

“This ranking system of U.S. public and private educational institutions is statistical and based on U.S. government surveys and reports provided by the schools themselves,” according to StateUniversity.com’s website. “Great pains are endured by the agencies responsible for the data collection to ensure both its accuracy and validity.”

CBS-Houston is a nationally accredited Bible college founded in 1979 that has provided biblical studies courses to more than 24,000 people in the past 32 years. The school’s 500-plus fall semester students are diverse in age, ethnicity, gender and cultural perspectives; 92 percent of the current students are enrolled in degree programs. CBS-Houston offers bachelor’s and associate’s degrees as well as certificate and non-certificate courses with evening, weekend and weekday classes. The college is located near Highway 59 and Hillcroft.
