“Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.” Psalm 116:7 (NIV)
We all have those times in life where we wish the voice of God would audibly speak so loudly there’s no way we could miss it, “THIS IS THE DIRECTION I WANT YOU TO GO.” Then we’d know whether to stay the course or quit and head off in a new direction.
Have you ever wished for this kind of certainty?
I have.
We want to know what to do. However God does not speak today in an audible voice; He now speaks to us through His written word. David said, “thy word Oh’ Lord is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105). We can also ask Him for wisdom and seek Him for understanding. I believe God has chosen not to speak to us in an audible voice today because He wants us to earnestly seek Him. If you are looking for direction for your life today try seeking Him, He wants to make Himself known and give you the direction you may be looking for.
